The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is one of the world's leading accountancy organisations. It prepares students to work in both public and private sectors. Its members are internationally recognised in public practice, industry, commerce and the public sector. ACCA membership also allows you to obtain status as a Registered Auditor.
GETTING A DEGREE THROUGH ACCA
ACCA students can gain an honours degree (Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting) while studying for the ACCA qualification. This is made possible through ACCA's innovative partnership with Oxford Brookes University. To gain a degree qualification, students must;
- Complete the Fundamental Level
- Submit a 5,000 word business-related Research & Analysis Report, and a 1,500-word Key Skills statement to Oxford Brookes University.
ACCA students therefore graduate with not just one, but TWO qualifications - the ACCA Professional Qualification and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Applied Accounting
ETHICS MODULE
Students studying for the ACCA Qualification are required to complete an online Ethics training module developed by ACCA. Students are given access to the Professional Ethics module by ACCA as soon as they become eligible to take Paper P1 and can complete the module at their convenience.
Entry requirements
There are a number of entry routes, which take into account previous school and graduate qualifications and which allow you to study for the ACCA qualification. If you do not have the standard qualifications, you may apply for Mature Student Entry provided you are over 16. Papers F2 and F3 must be passed within two years, with remaining papers to be passed within ten years.
Exemptions
In certain instances, students may be awarded exemptions for some papers in the Fundamental level. An exemption fee must be paid for each paper awarded. Contact ACCA for further information.
