ADMISSION / ENROLMENT PROCEDURE
BMTC sets policies and procedures for the registration of both British and overseas students. BMTC considers all applications equally regardless of gender, disability and social or ethnic origin.
Applicants must meet the admission requirements for each BMTC course they are seeking to join. Application forms and entry requirements may be obtained from the administration office at the College or from the website. The College can be contacted through its website, by E-mail, by telephone, by letter or in person. BMTC also have representatives internationally. Please ask us directly is you would like to make contact with a representative.
United Kingdom and EU student registration procedure
UK and EU students seeking admission to BMTC are required to complete an application form and then remit payments to the college along with copies of their academic documents and passport or birth certificate. Additionally, if the student is already registered with a relevant professional body, the registration number must be provided on the application form.
Non-EU registration procedure
Non-EU students resident in UK
In addition to the above, international students in the UK will have to provide a copy of their passport with a valid student visa.
Guidelines for prospective international students resident outside the EU
1. Upon receipt of a prospective student's application form, BMTC will assess the student against the admission requirements. Students who satisfy the requirements will be given a conditional letter of acceptance and a unique temporary student identification number.
2. BMTC tuition fees must be paid before we can issue an unconditional letter of acceptance which supports the visa application.
Note: Before your interview with the British Embassy or High Commission, you must obtain the confirmation of your admission in the form of the BMTC Enrolment Letter. This document confirms your acceptance and course payment. Payments (full or part) must be received before the Enrolment Letter is issued. Your enrolment creates a binding agreement between you and the College. If you fail to obtain your visa your payment less an amount of £150 administrative fee will be refunded.
3. In the event of a visa cancellation by the British Embassy or High Commission after the commencement of a course, for whatever reason, no refund of fees can be made by BMTC.
4. Transfer of fees to another student will be solely at the discretion of the College Principal. A minimum £150 transfer fee will apply.
5. Where a student has obtained a student visa using BMTC documentation and then decides not to follow their course at BMTC upon arrival in the UK, then no refund of fees can be made and, in due course, the UK Home Office will be advised.
6. If for any reason a course is cancelled, students will be offered an alternative course, or a full refund of fees.
7. If students change their course of study during the term, no refund will be given if the revised course involves fewer subjects.
8. Students are required to maintain regular attendance throughout the duration of their course. Holders of student visas are advised that the college will enforce Home Office rules and insist that a full-time course of a minimum of 15 hours per week of daytime study is followed. Failure to attend class for one month (without prior notice) will result in dismissal from the College.
9. It is the student's personal responsibility to ensure that all examination registrations are received by relevant examining bodies before the closing date.
10. Overseas students must comply strictly with all Immigration Rules.
11. BMTC reserves the right to refuse admission to any student.
12. BMTC also reserves the right to suspend or dismiss any student without a refund of fees in the event of serious misconduct or unsatisfactory attendance and/or progress.
Failure to report for classes at the agreed starting date, without notice, will result in the forfeiture of fees and the Home Office will be notified.
13. BMTC reserves the right to change the time of scheduled courses.
14. The College Prospectus is correct at the time of printing but is subject to alteration.
15. We are required by the Home Office to record student attendance and supply student details when requested.
16. Payment of fees must be fully up-to-date to allow a student to have use of BMTC facilities.
17. In the case of students registering though our overseas representatives, BMTC will not issue any documentation until the representative remits to BMTC the completed registration form and non-refundable deposit and the required tuition fee from the student.
18. The representative must receive the relevant academic support documents from the applicant and then assess whether or not they meet the entry requirement for the course. The representative will then advise the student with regard to course enrolment.
19. Upon receiving feedback from the representative, along with the required documents and the fees, the college will issue the Enrolment Letter.
20. The representative will fax and email the student's registration details along with the Bank Draft in favour of the Birmingham Management Training Co.
21. Any decision taken by the Embassy / High Commission will have to be communicated to the representative.
22. No student under the age of 18 years will be admitted for any course.
Policies and procedures with regard to the non-arrival of a student
Where a visa application is not successful, the student or College representative must fax the refusal letter (form APP 200) from the Embassy or High Commission along with a copy of the passport details.
If a student obtains a visa and does not report to the College by the due date they will be considered as a "non-arrival" and the Home Office will be advised.
According to BMTC policy, a list of all "non-arrival" students and their details shall be sent to the Home Office.
Policies and procedures concerning the non-attendance of a student
Student attendance is strictly monitored. Non-attendance is not acceptable unless validated reasons are given.
BMTC policy is to issue a warning notice to students who are absent for one week without any notification. Failure to attend classes consecutively for one month (without notice) will result in the student being expelled from BMTC. The Home Office will be advised of the expulsion.
Students must meet the minimum 80% attendance requirement. If this is not done they face expulsion and their details will be forwarded to the Home Office.
