|
The following terms and conditions apply for all courses run by Birmingham Management Training Co. Ltd (BMTC). Students should refer to the section for 'All Students' plus either 'For Full-time Students only' or 'For Part-time Students only.'
For All Students:
1. For all courses including ACCA, CIMA and CAT courses, a minimum deposit of £50 per paper for each course is required at the time of admission unless otherwise stated. The balance of fees due is payable prior to the start of the course.
2. All deposits are non-refundable, and cannot be transferred to later start dates or to other students.
3. For non-registered students who wish to attend our two-day Revision Courses and / or the Oxford Brookes Mentoring Programme, payment is required in full at the time of booking. Fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.
4. Entries for the Oxford Brookes Mentoring Programme relate specifically to the next submission period (as specified by Oxford Brookes University) after the booking date. Bookings cannot be carried forward to a subsequent period. The fee for this Programme includes 3 meetings with a mentor. Where a student is unable to attend a meeting, which has been arranged with the mentor, a minimum of 2 days' notice must be given. Where 2 days' notice is not given, the College will count the meeting as having taken place, and any extra meetings required as a result may be subject to a supplementary charge.
5. Cancellation: Where the fee has been paid in full, a refund less the deposit can be made, provided written notice is received by the College at least two weeks prior to the start date of the first paper booked (except for courses covered in Point 3 of the 'All Students' section where no refund can be made). After this date (2 weeks prior to the start date of the first course booked) neither complete nor pro-rata refunds can be made.
6. Deferral: where the full payment has been received, an enrolment can be deferred for one relevant sitting, provided BMTC receives written notice at least two weeks prior to the course commencement date. A basic administration charge of £50 per paper will be invoiced. No refund will be made and amounts paid for courses will be carried forward accordingly. It may be necessary to purchase new course materials upon continuation of deferred study. These are not included in amounts previously paid and will be invoiced separately.
7. A charge of £50 will be made to students for all dishonoured payments. The College reserves the right to report offenders to their professional body.
8. The College reserves the right to dismiss any student at any time for behaviour, which is deemed to be unprofessional, inappropriate or disruptive to other students. No fees will be refundable for any student dismissed under this section.
9. The College reserves the right to inform the appropriate authorities where a student has been dismissed from the College under point 7.
10. Course fees determined by BMTC include the provision of study materials (study text and class notes), examinations kit and revision classes. All study texts and examinations kits are supplied to BMTC by Kaplan Publishing and will be supplied on the first day of each course. Students wishing to collect their study materials are able to do so, once full course fees have been paid.
11. All information and prices provided on BMTC's website, on enrolment forms and through other promotional channels is believed to be correct at the time of printing but is subject to change at the discretion of the College. Changes will be displayed on the College notice board and/or on the website.
12. The College reserves the right to change any aspect of a course including availability of the course, course dates, curriculum and tutors at any time.
13.13. BMTC reserves the right to obtain the student's pass rate from the appropriate examining body. This is purely for ascertaining exam pass rates unless otherwise stated.
14. All fees quoted by BMTC are inclusive of VAT.
15. All fees quoted by BMTC exclude amounts payable to the professional or relevant body for student registration, exemptions, and examination entries.
16. It is the student's responsibility to register with the appropriate examination body and to enter all relevant examinations and to be in good standing with that body.
17. Students must be at least 16 years old to study at BMTC.
18. Fees are published separately for each term and are payable by all students studying at the time unless they have paid full fees prior to the publication of the new fees. Paying a deposit does not prevent any fee increase being applied.
19. If a student pays by cheque, the cheque should be made payable to 'Birmingham Management Training Co. Ltd.'
For Full-time Students only:
1. For full-time courses, the College will produce visa support letters (where requested) for the current term of enrolment only. Where visa support and other letters covering more than the current term of enrolment is required, then a minimum deposit of 50% of the course fee must be paid.
2. Fees sent from outside the UK should be paid by banker's draft. Fees paid in person at the College can be by banker's draft, cash or credit / debit card.
3. If you are an overseas student who wishes to enrol for a full-time ACCA, CIMA or CAT or similar course, to obtain a full-time student visa, you must take a minimum of three papers each term.
4. The British Home Office specifies attendance requirements for all students studying under a student visa and for visa renewal. Please note you as the student are responsible for signing the attendance register. Attendance registers will be circulated twice daily and will provide acceptable evidence to the British Home Office of your attendance.
5. Course changes and cancellations in respect of courses covered in Points 1 of the 'All Students' section must be received in writing at least 2 weeks prior to the published course registration date. Once letters of course confirmation have been issued for third parties confirming full-time status, no refunds or course transfers are permissible other than in the instance of Visa refusal. Where there is a credit balance on a student's account then this will be settled at the end of a period of study at the College.
6. Overseas students whose student visa application has been refused and who do not wish to re-apply for a visa, will, on production of a written request supported by a copy of the visa refusal letter (APP200), be refunded, after 4 weeks, the fees paid less an administration charge of £150, also less any exam fees which have been paid by BMTC on behalf of the student.
For Part-time Students only:
1. Students sponsored by employers will need to provide a letter prior to course commencement from their employer confirming the employer's acceptance to pay on the student's behalf.
